Kreya 1.19.1, published by riok GmbH, is a desktop GUI client engineered to simplify interaction with gRPC, REST and WebSocket APIs through an interface that combines manual testing, environment management and continuous integration workflows. Designed for developers and QA engineers who need repeatable, version-controlled API calls, the application stores every request, response, authentication profile and environment variable as local JSON files that can be committed to Git or any sync service, enabling teams to share collections without external hosting. The program supports the four gRPC call patterns—unary, client-streaming, server-streaming and bidirectional duplex—over HTTP/2 and the emerging HTTP/3 transport, while REST endpoints can be imported directly from OpenAPI specifications and organized into hierarchical folders whose inherited directory settings automatically propagate endpoint URLs, headers or TLS configurations to every child operation. Authentication is handled through reusable blocks that can reference environment-specific secrets, and a built-in templating engine lets placeholders be resolved at runtime so the same request can switch from staging to production with one click. For automation, Kreya ships with kreyac, a cross-platform CLI that can execute collections, run JavaScript-based assertions, generate JUnit reports and integrate into CI pipelines, while server reflection eliminates the need to distribute proto files during exploratory testing. Four major versions have been released to date, each expanding scripting capabilities, adding WebSocket support and refining the diff viewer for regression checks.
